Firstly thank you for your fantastic support, for the two charities the final total should be close to £1400 a tremendous amount considering the credit crunch. I cant thank you enough; this money will help lots of children.
My next charity event involves dancing and woman’s cloths, the rest is a secret, don’t worry no fundraising its purely a ticket event three nights at the Woodville Halls Gravesend in July, ill post the photos then.
And the Big day.
Well I made it, just 5:11:00 not a brilliant time but my position for my age group 2485 makes it sound a bit better. What a day though the support was out of this world even around the dreaded Docklands where I had been warned that the support would be sparse, far from it, people were there in their thousands. A great atmosphere I am so glad I took part. The hardest part was between 30 – 35 km when my body wanted to give up, it was like having a good angel and a bad devil on my shoulders one saying **** this you cant go on, the other saying don’t be a woos get on with it, it was certainly a mind battle. At least I beat Peter Andre and Katie Price. The pair eventually completed the course in just over seven hours.
I think with a bit more training I could finish under four hours
You know I said never again.

All the best and thanks once again

- As some of you may know for the last few years I have been trying to secure a place in the Flora London Marathon, well my time has come, confirmation dropped on my mat Saturday morning, the 2009 race is on Sunday 26th April. Most people think at the age of 49 having run one marathon previously, that I am completely mad. I must admit knowing the training that I had to do last time, the injuries I received and the thought of those last six miles together with the pain afterwards, I could barely walk for 24 hours, I tend to agree with them. Unfortunately I am not as fit as I was three years ago at least 1/2 stone heavier so this is going to be a long hard slog for me, but for me it’s a must do before I die quest. Not just for myself I also want to help other people I have therefore decided to run the marathon and to raise as much money as I can for two children’s charities that are dear to my heart.

The Journey is nearly over
Went for my last run today, 10 minutes hardly seemed worth getting changed so I didn’t ran round the field out the back glorious sunshine felt good for 10 minutes, then I remembered I will be running for between 4 and 5 hours Sunday.
I just saw the weather forecast so some good and bad news, the good news its going to be cooler, the bad I cant blame the weather if I don’t make it. I am feeling quite nervous at the moment, as I have said before I am not a runner, I just like running, well some times at least.
A big big thank you for all those donations, I met up with Caroline Blakely the event organiser from Children with Leukaemia at Excel on Wednesday, she was very grateful for all the support as is the headmistress at the Craylands School, she is over the moon as all your contributions will go straight to the children who in these hard times desperately need our support.
Excel was buzzing, pasta parties, massages and lots of freebies, it is so well organised it was a great day out.
I will try and post some pictures of my running vest tomorrow so if you are interested and are watching the marathon, you might be able to spot me (not)
Any way a big thank you once again.
P.S. I will add one more post after the marathon, maybe some pictures and let you know how I got on.
Bye for now

Less than 14 days to go
Well less than 2 WEEKS TO GO, oh my god. At least the training has tapered off I now only have one long run left of 1 hour and a few short runs to do, also the best bit is about to start lots and lots of pasta to eat, cant wait. I have lost nearly a stone since December so hopefully wont put it back on before the race, keep worrying if I have done enough training, well its too late now. Thanks again for all your support.
